Snakes on a Plane directed by someone and starring
Samuel L. Jackson and a bunch of other people who are mostly snake fodder with a
few sprinkled throughout we are to care for.
I had
prepared myself for how bad this movie was going to be, but I just wasn’t
prepared for how bad it really was. This
movie is absurd in everything it does.
It’s not absurd in a good way either.
I watched Abraham Lincoln:
Vampire Hunter a few weeks ago, which was a totally absurd movie but at
least it was entertaining. Snakes on a Plane isn’t even
entertaining. It’s bad in every way possible
and it’s not even a good bad either. It’s
just plain bad. There’s one memorable line utter by Jackson and
that’s it for memorable lines. There’s
no one to care about or root for either because we don’t know enough about anyone
to care for them. Even the two main
characters of the movie we don’t really know enough about to care for. Jackson’s character has no character at all, the
entire characters is relying on Jackson’s familiarity to get the character by
with nothing. That’s just plain lazy
film making there. I say if you don’t
care enough to do this at least somewhat with care, then I don’t care either. Everything about this movie is lazy. It’s absurd but it’s like they knew it was
absurd, so they just decided to not to anything about it because they thought
the absurdity of it all would be enough.
Well it wasn’t by a long shot.
Even Abe Lincoln: Vamp Hunter was absurd, the people making it knew it
was going to be absurd, but they still spent some time making some characters
the audience would care about and delivering a somewhat decent storyline. Not here.
Here there’s nothing but laziness mixed in with the absurd. The only thing really going for this movie is
a good poster design and that’s it.
